Terms & Conditions

1. All references contained hereinafter to 'the Company' shall be deemed to mean FORTRESS SECURITY SYSTEMS LTD

2. Quotations remain valid for a period of 28 days and for installation to be completed within 3 months of acceptance. Thereafter the quotation is subject to review.

3. Title to the goods and equipment shall not pass to the Customer until payment in full has been received by the Company.

4. Delivery Policy: All items are sent out by 1st Class recorded delivery, same working day if available stock item.

5. The quotation is based on works being completed within 'normal working hours' (i.e. between 0900 and 1700 Monday to Friday excluding bank holidays - works undertaken outside these periods will be subject to additional cost) and unhindered access afforded to the Company and its servants or agents to the works.

6. Payment terms: For work requiring Installation, 50% deposit with order, balance due on completion of works.

For goods purchased and sent out, full payment must be received before goods are sent.

7. Guarantee: In the event of faulty materials or workmanship the Company will at its discretion either repair or replace parts or the whole installation. This guarantee extends for a period of one year from the date of sale/completion of the installation but is subject to suspension at the Company's discretion if balance monies remain outstanding. The Company reserves the right to charge for attendance where the assessed problem is a result of user error.

Exclusions: The following are not covered by the guarantee: damage due to fire, flood, tempest, riot and civil disturbance, break-in, attempted break-in, accident, vandalism, mis-use, neglect and user error.

Any goods reported as faulty must be returned in original condition and packaging with sales invoice to allow exchange.

8. Refund/cancellation policy: A time limit of 7 days from date of purchase will be allowed as cooling off period to cancel and request a refund. Once the product has been received back in original condition, a refund will then be issued to the original card used to purchase. The part must be returned at the customer's expense.We do not refund postage costs.
Paypal fees   We use Paypal to manage our purchases from our website. Anything purchased from our website Paypal take 3.4% charge + 20p from the amount a customer pays. We as a company cover the charge to encourage customers to purchase through our website. However, if we have to refund a customer Paypal also takes a percentage fee and this fee is chargeable to the customer.

9. Whilst the Company will make every endeavour to complete the works on the date or within the period arranged with the Customer the Company shall in the event of unforeseen circumstances arising be entitled to amend the timing of the works and this will be accepted by the Customer and the Company shall in any event not be responsible for any loss whatsoever arising from or consequential upon delay in completion of the works. It is expressly agreed that time is not of the essence in this contract.

10. Specification: The Company reserves the right to make changes to the specification without prior notice to the Customer which would not materially affect the design if in the opinion of the Company such an alteration would facilitate the proper execution of the work.

11. It is the sole responsibility of the Customer to obtain any planning consents or other necessary permissions and ensure that works do not contravene any covenants or other restrictions. Unless formally advised to the contrary, the Contractor will assume that all the foregoing has been complied with prior to the commencement of the works.

12. The Company must be informed in writing within seven days of acceptance of order of any changes, alterations, reductions or cancellations. The Company also reserves the right to retain any deposits or charge in full for any goods supplied or fabricated.

13. Whilst every effort is taken to carry out the works in a neat fashion, the Company does not undertake to make good decorations or existing finishes where disturbed when undertaking our works unless specifically agreed beforehand.

14. The goods supplied/works undertaken are intended to reduce the risk of loss or damage, unauthorised entry, and injury to persons. The Company gives no undertaking to the Customer that the goods installed/works undertaken will prevent such events.

15. The Company shall not be liable for any loss or damage suffered by the Customer however caused, whether as a result of any negligence, breach of contract, misrepresentation or otherwise or resulting from any unauthorised entry or burglary, theft, robbery, damage, disturbance or other cause.
